Rive's goal is to allow designers to create, animate, and ship their assets to any platform thanks to our open-source runtimes. The new Rive improves on all of these.

Update: We are now in open beta! Sign ups for the new Rive are open to everyone. Note that we chose to de-prioritize the desktop app during the closed beta (originally announced below). View our roadmap and suggest features on our feedback site.

Team collaboration

The new editor has been rebuilt from the ground up for better performance and to support real-time collaboration for teams. Create shared spaces where you and other team members can design and animate together, no matter where you are.

With teams, product designers can work together to follow a consistent motion language. Game designers can share their assets in a centralized location. Engineers gain insight into the design process and can see how assets are rigged.

Available for web and desktop

Rive takes advantage of cutting-edge technologies such as Flutter and WebAssembly to create native desktop and web apps. Both add improved design and animation features, making it easier for designers to create interactive motion graphics. We'll be sharing more on all of this in the coming weeks.

The runtimes

Rive's open-source runtimes load files created in the editor into your website, app, or game engine. The new runtimes are optimized for multiple platforms and share a modern architecture with the editor. This new format ensures that what you see in the editor is what you get in your app or game.

Join the closed beta

If you're interested in trying out the beta, please fill out the form on the new Rive beta website. We have limited slots, so please share as much about your team as you can. We're looking for teams that are eager to try out the new collaborative functionalities in Rive.

We're committing to sharing news about the new Rive every week, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and subscribe to this blog!
